In 2013, for the fourth consecutive year the AFL Umpire Coach Professional Development Program National Conference will be conducted in conjunction with the AFL National Coaching Conference.

All Umpire Coaches who participate in the AFL Umpire Coach Professional Development Program are invited to attend this conference as part of their development program.

The schedule for umpire coaches will include attending all keynote presentations, selected concurrent sessions as well as participating within their own specific umpire coach professional development sessions.

An organising committee with a representative from each state will develop the program and ensure it is relevant to umpiring coaches across all states.

Bringing coaches and umpire coaches together for this weekend reinforces the umpiring is everybody’s business campaign.

In order to assist Umpire Coaches currently participating in or about to join the AFL Umpire Coach Professional Development Program in attending the conference, the AFL Umpiring Development department has again subsidised costs associated with registration and accommodation. 

Conference cost

The usual cost for a coach to attend this conference is $360.00.  This does not include flights or accommodation.

The 2013 AFL National Umpire Coaching Conference costs will be as follows

• Registration costs - $225.00 per coach
• (Enjoy full access to the conference for the Friday night, Saturday and Sunday sessions. Price also includes the Saturday night Conference Dinner. Finger food and drinks are provided on the Friday night. Morning Tea, Lunch and Afternoon Tea with drinks provided on Saturday and Sunday)
• Accommodation arrangements and costs for interstate or VIC country coaches will be covered by the AFL
• All umpire coaches will be required to purchase their own flights to Melbourne and any transfers to and from the airport

Please note that this conference is only available to those umpire coaches registered in or who will be participating in the AFL Umpire Coach Professional Development Program in 2013.
